Take a long document.
Click on page 1.
Scroll to some other page.
Select menu item Edit/Changes/Record.
The display jumps back to page 1!

Please don't change pages!
Comment 1 lars 2006-01-10 20:23:08 UTC
this is probably because the caret is still on page 1. confirmed on Windows XP
Pro SP2 with OOo 2.0.1.

NOT A HINDRANCE???
Imagine scrolling to the place where you want to edit. In a big document, this
takes a while. Then, if you change any setting, the view changes to some other
part of the document! This happens to me over and over and over, every day!
It's REALLY ANNOYING!

PLEASE FIX THIS!

The problem was the Table Toolbar. If my cursor was not in a table, the Table
Toolbar doesn't appear. If I click in a table, the Table Toolbar appears in a
brand-new row above the editing area, reducing the editing area. This causes the
annoying "jump".

I found a workaround. I clicked inside a table, waited for the window stuff to
get moved around, then dragged the Table Toolbar to the end of the top row. Now,
when I click in side a table, the window doesn't have to be redrawn. The
downside is that not all the buttons on the Table Toolbar fit, but it's better
than having the content jump around.
