Isn't this something that a committer on Documentation should be able to handle? Am reassigning to Gerry. Gerry, if I'm wrong, feel free to reassign to support. thanks Louis As far as i know, we can only delete our local repository, but not in the main repository itself. That's what i assign it to support. Please correct me if i'm wrong. I get the information from here : http://native-lang.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=dev&msgNo=6133 There are also some old discussion here : http://native-lang.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=dev&msgNo=6009 Well now the asnwer is not quite as straight forward as it seems. If you are talking about CVS then local removal and committal will give the appearence of removing but the Attic will still hold what was there up to the time of removal. You can see this phenomenum by looking through http://documentation.openoffice.org/source/browse/documentation/ until you find http://documentation.openoffice.org/source/browse/documentation/www/setup_guide/ which is the heirarchy I removed because it was so confusing and reset it up as setup_guide2 to contain _All_ the setup guides. Likewise for other archives in CVS. So what to do? Willy, try the following: 1. Delete the setup guide from CVS with cvs remove <name of file> 2. cvs commit 3. Delete the directory that you want gone 4. cvs commit 5. copy the guide to its new home 6. update the index file for the new home 7. cvs add the file 8. cvs commit 9. go back to the directory where the file was originally and enter cvs update -P -d and you will see the old one stays gone. Please try this yourself as you have the perms and if it doesn't appear to work re-assign the task to me, again. As you can see I have assigned this to you and set the status to NEW. Thanks for the clarifications! No need to try it: I accept Gerry's and Willy's assessment. Support, will you be so kind as to act on Willy's original request? Thanks Louis Thanks Louis, i appreciate your decision Hi Louis, I have filed an internal ticket to the engineers to delete the setup_guide2 directory.I will update you once the directory is deleted.
