Writer does not keep users from making obvious mistakes: If a whole sentence is
selected instead of setting the cursor to the point of reference, the inserted
footnote replaces the selected sentence.  Users are also not kept from entering
the complete footnote text into the input field â€œNummerierung-Zeichenâ€
(Numbering-Character).  Recommendation: Support the behaviour learned in
competing products.  Find a way to detect such erroneous attempts and offer
solutions.

Please remove the selection and insert the footnote at the end of the previous
selection.
