Description stephan.wunderlich 2006-02-15 10:54:26 UTC
The attached document contains a function call "senseoflife".
If you go to an arbitrary Cell and type "=senseoflife()" in it then the number
42 will appear.

Now try
1. type "senseoflife" in a cell
2. type "=senseoflife()" in another Cell

=> you get an error message since calc changed your second entry to
"='senseoflife'()" and wonders what to do with that :-)

JA: I can confirm that this is a valid problem. The automagic range detection
doesn't take into account that there might be a BASIC function having the same
identifier. In this case the function name is converted into a string.

Changing target to 2.x
Comment 4 niklas.nebel 2007-12-04 18:11:39 UTC
retarget 2.x -> 3.x

By the way, this is particularly a pitfall because (unlike Excel) this automagic
range detection is enabled by default. It is a bizarre feature that should
only be activated if the user requests it.
