Description lingletcl 2006-03-14 07:20:34 UTC
1. Open any saved spreadsheet file(extended file name is ods) and then new a
apreadsheet file "Untitled1";
2.In the "Untitled1" document, Input the function SUM and the reference range
is any data range such as "A1:A2" in the saved document(A1 has value 1 and A2
has value 2), find the formula result is correct;
3.Input "12" in the cell A3 and "1" in the cell A4 in the saved document, and
then input the function SUM (the reference range is "A3:A4" of the saved
document)in the "Untitled1" document. I find the formula result is 0!
Comment 1 lars 2006-03-14 15:00:49 UTC
peculiar... confirmed with 680_m158 on WinXP Pro SP2
Comment 2 frank 2006-03-14 15:23:20 UTC
And this is correct behaviour. Entering the numbers in A3:A4 does not save them
to the disk and the reference to these cells isn't a DDE Link.

Only DDE links will update directly after entering the data in the source
document. All other references have to be saved and the links in the other
documents have to be updated e.g. by using Edit-Links.

So this Issue is closed invalid.

I already saved the file and open it, refer the A3:A4, the formula result is 0,
I think it's wrong!

1. Open any saved spreadsheet file whose name is "ref.ods"(has data: value 1 is
in the cell A1, value 2 is in the cell A2) and then new a spreadsheet
file "Untitled1";
2.In the "Untitled1" document, Input the function SUM in the cell A1 whose
reference range is data range "A1:A2" in the "ref.ods"(seen the image
reference1.jpg),the formula result is 3, the correct answer;
3.Input value 3 in the cell B1 and value 4 in the cell B2 in the "ref.ods",
then save it. In the "Untitled1" document, Input the function SUM in the cell
B1 which reference range is "A3:A4" of the document "ref.ods"(seen the image
reference2.jpg). The formula result isn't 7, but 0! It's wrong.

Hi,

as I've said before, it's not a bug but an enhancement request. To have the
values from the other file we import a hidden sheet from it. Therefore a
reference on the same sheet and file will show a zero until you manually update
the links by going to Edit-Links.
