1.New a spreadsheet and input the value 123456 in the cell A1;
2.Double click A1 and select the string "456", focus on the Font Size listbox 
in the Formatting toolbar and select 20 font size;
3.Click the cell A2 and quit editable status, and then select the cell A1
(single click), select 12 font size. It should be 12 font size the 
value "123456", but only the string "123" is 12 font size, the string "456" is 
still 20 font size!

I can confirm this OOo dev-m158 WinXP SP2.

Considerations:
Hmmm.. looking for this matter in OOo help I found this:

font sizes;relative changes:
Specify the formatting and the font that you want to apply.
[...]
The changes are applied to the current selection, to the entire word that
contains the cursor, or to the new text that you type.
]

The part "to the entire word that contains the cursor" is not working as expected.
I agree with this behavior, so maybe this is only a matter of documentation ?

Hi,

please have a look at the Priority help by clicking on the Priority link above.
This Issue is in no way a Prio 2 task. Have a look at the bug submission
guidelines too.

Also this could be easily detected as a double to Issue 53545 .
