Description kpalagin 2006-03-24 09:46:03 UTC
When sending file from any OOo application I get Outlook's "Choose profile"
eventhough Outlook is running already (and thus profile is selected already).
Repro steps:
1. Make sure Outlook (not Outlook Express) is configured on computer and start
Outlook.
2. Open Excel|Wor|PowerPoint and enter random data. Click File\Send To\Mail
Recipient (As attachment). Note how new message composition window is
displayed.
3. Start Writer, type random text, click File\Send\"Document as E-mail".
Observe dialog simillar to attached screenshot.

Expected result - do not ask to choose profile.

Which Outlook you use. I could not reproduce it with Outlook beta 2007. And what
about Outlook Express?
Comment 5 kpalagin 2006-11-28 16:02:14 UTC
hi,
I use Outlook 2003. I just found that you have to have more than one profile
for this dialog to pop up.
Outlook Express is not relevant because it does not have concept of profile.

HI->CD: Unfortunately I have not Outlook 2003. But as I wrote. it is not
reproducible for me with Outlook 2007 Beta where I've 2 profiles.
Please have a look.

Comment 9 kpalagin 2006-12-01 14:20:17 UTC
Just wanted to add, that in Control Panel, Mail, Show Profiles I have "Prompt
for a profile to be used" set.
Comment 10 hennes.rohling 2007-01-19 10:16:58 UTC
@kapalagin: Currently I'm not able to evaluate this because I've no Outlook
2003. But regarding your last comment - did you try what happens when you change
the setting to choose a profile in control panel ? For me it looks like "works
as expected".
Comment 11 kpalagin 2007-01-19 10:41:38 UTC
hro,
if I set it to "Always use this profile" then OO does not bring "Choose
profile" dialog. But then I loose ability to easily select the profile when
Outlook starts.
I would like to stress that with "Prompt for a profile to be used" AND Outlook
already running, neither when sending from Explorer not from competing
applications I get "choose profile". Very important detail here is that
Outlook is running alerady, thus profile chosen.

I can provide Remote Desktop access to Windows installation, which exhibits
this behavior, so that you can check if I am doing something wrong, use some
debug software etc. Drop me a message at kpalagin@yahoo.com and I will supply
details (IP, username/pwd).
In the mean time I will try the same with Outlook 2007.
Thanks a lot for your attention.

Hi hro,

I got the same problem using OOo2.2 and Outlook 2000...
At the moment we need to use Outlook 2000 on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003...

Every time we want to send a document out of OOo Outlook asks us which profile
to use, even if only one profile exists and/or Outlook is already running...
