Reassigned. I have been told users expect the Notes view to have lines for users to write on handouts. Impress looses these lines when converting from Powerpoint.. I think that's a different issue; and it is a bug. This is an enhancement. If clubbed, it will be lost. Please raise that separately, and mention "non-compatibility with MSO". Thanks. The specs do not include the two suggestions I made for the handout: 1. Pages containing x slides and notes alongside each slide. 2. Pages containing x slides and blank lines alongside each slide. The first option allows the presenter to prepare his speech verbatim and read it out from the printed version even as he shows the slides on the screen. The second option allows the audience to add their own notes. @cl->raindrops: you are right, this specification does not cover handout+notes. I gave the implementation a shot and found out that adding notes will take more time than I currently can invest into this. So I created issue 85355 to start and implement the handout+lines part. If I or someone else has time later, we will also add the handout+notes. This issue is almost two years old. Why should you close it after taking some unrelated actions (based on the unrelated specs)? Please let it age if no action is taken on it. Please do NOT raise other issues based on this issue. And if it will NOT be closed even after meeting your specs, then why is the specs document attached here? The specs do not mention either of the two points suggested here. It should have been attached to some other (or a new) issue. How will you close this issue without taking any of the two suggestions? |
