OO file ?corrupted by Powerpoint none

Description mspohr 2006-04-13 16:56:33 UTC
I've found that in some of my Impress presentations (saved in ppt format), the
Impress Outline view tab doesn't show the outline text for most slides. At the
same time, the Notes view only shows a blank square instead of the slide image.
This seems to happen after the presentation has been opend with MS Powerpoint
(Office XP). The attached presentation was created in OO (saved in ppt format)
the opened and edited in MS Office XP. It seems to have been corrupted somehow
by MS Office so that when opened in OO (or Powerpoint), the Outline view does
not display most of the text on the slide and the Notes view only displays a
blank square for the slide image.

I see the bug in the document you attached but I can't reproduce it.
Please tell me how do you create this document.
A step by step description would be great.

This presentation was originally created in OO and saved in ppt format.
It was subsequently edited in both OO and MS PPT (Office XP version) running on
Windows XP. At some point, the edits introduced this bug which prevents proper
viewing of the Outline and Notes views. I have looked for early versions of the
file (pre bug) but don't seem to have any. I have also tried to re-create the
problem in a new file but, so far, I have not been able to do this... I will
keep working on trying to reproduce the bug so I can show both pre- and post-
edit files. This bug has happened to me several times before so I think I can
eventually reproduce it. It may have to do with adding graphics to the
presentation.
