Description shaunmcdonald131 2006-04-27 16:45:10 UTC
I cannot install the Scots Gaelic dictionary into OpenOffice. I have tried, both
the automatic and manuall install, both with no luck. The above link shows that
it is available on some of the mirrors.

It does not show up in the list when downloading the list through DictOOO.

I just get a zip error, when I try to do an off-line installation. (Off-line
installation is required for some of my machines.)

Tried in both Windows, Linux Fedora Core 2 and Mac OS X, with the same results
thus assuming that it affects the whole of OOo.

This is not a l10n/i18npool issue, transfering to default owner of the
lingucomponent project.

Reassigning.

The dictionary seems to also be available at http://lingucomponent.openoffice.org/spell_dic.html which is
part of the official OOo site, as opposed to mainly mirrors that are appearing in the above search.

The file was not listed in "available.lst" on the main server so the wizard in
OOo didn't know about it. Should be fixed now (it takes one day or so for the
mirrors to update though).

I'm not sure if that will be enough as doing an offline installation has the problem in that OOo just doesn't
recognise the dictionaries.

I think there may need to be something done that will mean that the fix won't be available until the next
release of OOo. From my understanding that would mean OOo 2.0.4, as 2.0.3 in in the final iterations.

Thanks go to Michel Weimerskirch for pointing out that if you go to 'Format' > 'Character...' You can select
the language Gaelic (Scotland) there.

We need to double check off-line installation (previously didn't work) and enable Gaelic (Scotland) for the
default language for the document list.

It should also be noted that you are able to install the language from the server now.

Thanks should go to Daniel for fixing the file on the server.
