Reassigned to HI. *** Issue 64944 has been confirmed by votes. *** I was able to print selected data. Please give a detailed stept by step description to reproduce the problem. See: http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/basic_rules.html#reproducibility I just tried it the same way, OOo 2.0.2 on Win XP Home: * created a circular letter * used the direct print button * dialog came up with question "do i wish to print a circular letter" * I agreed * dialog came up to select records * I selected 2 different records(1 and 3) from 5 * print marked records was automatically selected * I start printing in file Everything worked as desired. @hi: here is a description of my perception of the problem, maybe it differs from that of the OP: 1- create serial letter e.g. using the wizard, in last step save the document 2- open the document created in step 1, open the data browser F4 3- select several records, say 2 + 4 (out of 5) using ctrl+click Problem #1 (that of the OP, how I understand it) arises when using the mail merge wizard for printing 4a- click mail merge button 5a- to use current document just click "Next" 3 times 6a- to select individual records for printing you have to deselect the unwanted records in step 5 of the wizard, your recent selection from the data browser is ignored Problem #2 arises when you print by printing dialog (button or menu) 4b- print the document using direct print button or file->print 5b- after answering the "form letter" dialog with "yes", a new data browser comes up in the printing dialog - but with no selected records, so the selection from the big data brwoser in the document is lost and you have to select again. The Problem is that the data browser in the print dialog - is very small, so if want to select records based on a field somewhere far right, you have to scroll horizontally a lot; - not resizable vertically, so if you want to select several individual ranges of records you have to scroll vertically a lot; - does not take care of the selections made in the "ordinary" (F4) data browser HI->OS: That would be a nice improvement. - Open a doc with mailmerge fields - open beamer and select some recipients - Click on print button -> Do you want to print/merge only the selected datas? I think it's difficult to catch the selected datas at step 6, when you start mailmerge. Subject changed Target set to OOo Later Reassigned to requirements. |
