Description pilsator 2006-05-19 15:02:04 UTC
If you put a hyperlink into the last word of a caption (or the whole caption is
hyperlinked) pressing return and writing in the standard text body will extend
this hyperlink. You don't have any chance to break the hyperlink environment.
The whole text in the following text segment will be hyperlinked, each single
character that you write. Even marking the text after the caption only and
removing the hyperlink in the hyperlink dialogue won't eliminate the hyperlink
on all of the text.
Pressing the return key in a caption should also end the hyperlink environment.
But it doesn't (untill this bug is fixed)...

hyperlinks are handeled like a character formatting, like bold and italic.
If you want to "go out" of an hyperlink, type a space, select it and then do
"Format - Default Formatting".

Please forgive me for reopening this issue.

The instruction to break a hyperlink - typing a space, selecting
it, and applying format default - works well. I can understand the
specification that a hyperlink is one of the character attributes.

The instruction, however, is complex for even experienced users
and could not be found by casual users without a special training.

Typing a Ctrl-Enter to insert a page break will continue a hyperlink.
Nobody probably expects that behavior - a hyperlink across pages.

So, please give it a chance to reconsider a specification of a
current behavior of hyperlink and come up with practical solutions.

 - Nobody normally needs to append letters as a part of hyperlink.
 - Typing a space letter, inserting a line break, column break,
paragraph break, page break, and so on could break a hyperlink.

Thanks in advance.
