Description owqcd 2006-05-22 13:16:30 UTC
Hello,

the following file is not recognized as a postscript file (even
if I rename it to .eps) : http://www.fho-emden.de/~hoffmann/ciegamut.txt

Error displayed by OO : "Unknown graphic format"

However, it is perfectly well shown with the program 'gv'.

If I transform it with the program 'eps2eps', it works well in OO. Shouldn't it
work well without the 'eps2eps' workaround ?

@ cgu: Something for you?

I checked with "2.0.2 German version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9011)]" and was able
to reproduce the problem:

1. Download <http://www.fho-emden.de/~hoffmann/ciegamut.txt>
2. rename file to 'ciegamut.eps'
3. Menu "File - Open"
4. Select filetype 'EPS' and click 'ciegamut.eps'
Expected: New DRAW document containing .eps image should be opened
   Actual: Error message
9. If you try to insert the .eps as a picture into a DRAW document, only a
   placeholder will appear

Ghostview opens 'ciegamut.eps' without any problem, so it seems to be an OOo
problem.

TM->CGU: Still reproducible in a m217 build. Defect or a wish for an enhancement
? Please have a look, thanks !

I can reproduce the bug.
If I inserted a Tiff 6 preview to the eps file irfan view shows it correct but
OOo only shows a blank graphic object.
Please have a look.

Yes, this is because OOo is not supporting Tiff files (v6) which are including
Jpeg files. This is an enhancement.
