Description stastnj1 2006-06-02 10:46:24 UTC
It is not possible to edit Suggestions - suggested words - in OO.
Example given:
there was a mispelled word "wite" in my document - "write" should be there.
The spellchecker neither offers "write" in the suggestions, nor allows to write
my own replacement for "wite". In fact, you have to close it, fix the word and
run the spellcheck again :-(.

It IS possible to edit the misspelled word without closing spell checker; simply
click on the word in the spell check window and modify it. (It will be
highlighted with red type.)

However, you are correct, it is not possible to edit a suggestion in the
suggestion list.

In my mind editing a suggestion is not very critical; you can always look at the
suggestion then edit the original word.

Changing type to Enhancement request (as I don't believe editing a word in the
suggestion list was ever intended behavior) and setting priority to P4.

Steve

P.S. With your particular example ("wite") and OOo 2.0.3-RC5, "write" is in the
list of suggestions, at least for me.
