Description romolo 2006-08-02 01:17:50 UTC
Ordering datapilot columns by cells containing a month name jan,feb... (or in
italian gen feb) doesn't work.
Only alphabetical order is applied even if the source cell is formatted as MMM.
It should be auspicable in such cases to order even by user defined order lists.

Hi,

this is not a bug and also not an enhancement requeest.

The column Month used in the example is nothing else than text and therefore the
sort in alphabetical order is exactly what should apply. If you enter 01/01/06
instead of gen and 01/02/06 instead of feb and use the options on the month in
the datapilot dialog it will work as you expect.

closed invalid
Comment 6 romolo 2006-08-24 07:44:44 UTC
I would not consider asking to allow also custom ordering invalid, it's the
only plase in which you cannot order by custom list.
So please reopen and consider the votes instead of closing as invalid.
It's really a big limitation in use.

hi Niklas,

the enhancement would be to act like Excel. They sort Months automatically
according to the months list and allways before other data (jan feb xxx).
