The first slide of the prosentaton does not allow editing or show correctly.
It may be the use of the anamated gif,

I can reproduce the bug.
There is an animated gif on the first slide. 
On nearly all slides the gif is white instead of showing the graphic.
Only the rotating earth is always visibel.
With other programs I see the graphic all the time.
Please have a look.

Version: OpenOffice 4.1.7

I have successfully reproduced this issue according to the steps provided

Steps:
1. Open the attached ppt.
2. Add a .gif image on the second pate
3. Open in another ppt program e.g. powerpoint

Actual Result:
There is an animated gif on the first slide. 
On nearly all slides the gif is white instead of showing the graphic.
Only the rotating earth is always visible.
Updating other .gif image does not have the same problem
With other programs, I see the graphic all the time.
