Description Rainer Bielefeld 2006-10-20 09:44:37 UTC
I already saw that in 1.1 and all 2.0 versions I tested (my current one is "2.0.2 German version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9011)]" After a while of working with OOo, sometimes another document than selected in menu "Window - document choice" will be opened. It does not matter whether you select with mouse pointer or keys, the result as the same as you see in attached 'leadstowrongdocument.swf'. The problem only appears using that menu, selecting from WIN XL task bar works without problems. Until now I have not found any way to make that problem reproducible, sometimes it appears, sometimes it does not.
Comment 1 Rainer Bielefeld 2006-10-20 09:49:50 UTC
Created attachment 39902 [details] screen movie (taken with 'CamStudio') demonstrating the problem
Comment 2 Rainer Bielefeld 2007-04-18 10:03:17 UTC
I still see this problem with "2.2.0RC4 German version WIN XP: [680m14(Build9134)]" on a new PC with a completely fresh OOo installation.

Comment 4 jbf.faure 2008-01-27 17:35:35 UTC
I never experienced such kind of behaviour. @rainerbielefeld: are you still experiencing this behaviour with current 2.3.1 version ? What is "WIN XL task bar" ?
Comment 5 Rainer Bielefeld 2008-01-27 18:06:50 UTC
Still visible with 2.3.1 Please excuse my typo, on the WIN XP task bar you can see a group with all open OOo files (and other groups), from there I always hit the OOo document I want to see.
Comment 6 jbf.faure 2008-01-27 18:52:28 UTC
@rainerbielefeld: OK for the typo. Have you observed this kind of behaviour for a small number of documents opened at the same moment ? Perhaps there is a problem with the list if it is too long.
Comment 7 Rainer Bielefeld 2008-01-28 06:08:07 UTC
This problem only happens aftr a long time of work and after many open and close document operations. S currently I can only reproduce this (may be 3 times a week) with one PC.
Comment 8 jbf.faure 2008-02-04 05:02:01 UTC
@rainerbielefeld: can you try to rename personnal configuration directory ( c:\doc&settings\...\application data\openoffice.org2\) on the affected PC and test if that solve the problem ?
Comment 9 Rainer Bielefeld 2008-10-16 06:28:29 UTC
I still see this with with "Ooo 3.0.0 RC3 Multilingual version German UI WIN XP: [OOO300m8 (Build9357)]"
Comment 10 Rainer Bielefeld 2009-04-29 08:04:25 UTC
Still see the problem with a fresh new installation of "Ooo 3.1.0 RC2 multilingual version German UI WIN XP: [OOO310m11 (Build 9399)]"

Comment 13 drmartinus 2009-09-29 17:13:11 UTC
I found this reported as an issue once for Mac, and it was closed because it worked elsewhere. I have the same issue (I believe), so I think it must be a defect. Running under KDE 4.3, OOo Build 9319, i.e. 310m21 (not listed above, so I took the closest). The problem continued through different versions: when I click in the window list on the document that I want to bring up, some other document that is open is placed on top. It can happen that I don't get to the wanted document at all, and I have to use the KDE windows list to get there. I usually work with more than one doc at a time, and it always bugged me that OOo had given up the tabbed windows within one frame - that was much easier to handle.
Comment 14 Rainer Bielefeld 2009-09-29 18:41:31 UTC
@drmartinus: Can you please try to find the Issue No. for the Mac-Issue report?
Comment 15 Rainer Bielefeld 2013-07-20 05:57:33 UTC
I still see this problem in the latest LibreOffice versions. Until now I do not use AOO intensive enough so I do not expect to see this problem, but I will watch more careful.
Comment 16 Rainer Bielefeld 2013-07-29 12:14:26 UTC
Still Reproducible with "AOO 4.0.0-Dev – German UI / German locale [AOO400m3(Build:9702) - Rev. 1503709 (2013-07-17) ]" on German German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", Common 4.0-dev User Profile The problem only appears if you open and close lots of documents, Althoug I suffer from this bug since 2006 until today on various PC (all: WIN) I did not find a way how to make it reproducible.
Comment 17 Rainer Bielefeld 2013-10-20 17:37:07 UTC
Some PCs and OS later still reproducible with "AOO 4.0.1 – German UI / German locale [Rev. 1524958 2013-09-20 11:40:29]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", “historic” 4.0 User Profile used for all predecessor versions. CONFIRMED due to comments of drmartinus.
