Description katherinekatz 2006-11-08 23:53:02 UTC
In fiddling with the new MSO recently, I discovered that in selecting many
cells it would speed up and then slow down to a stop when it came to the
nearest blank cell, meaning you didn't overshoot the end of the of the table
drastically. A great improvement! Well worth immitating.

I can't confirm that Excel actually slows down the selection speed when it's
approaching a blank cell. But Excel adjusts the scroll speed when selecting a
range that extends outside the current visible area, with the scroll speed
depending upon how far the mouse pointer is from the edge of the worksheet
window. I will just assume that's what you are requesting to be implemented in
Calc. If not, let us know.

I'm adding this comment to all open issues with Issue Type == PATCH. We have 220 such issues, many of them quite old. I apologize for that.

We need your help in prioritizing which patches should be integrated into our next release, Apache OpenOffice 4.0.

If you have submitted a patch and think it is applicable for AOO 4.0, please respond with a comment to let us know.

On the other hand, if the patch is no longer relevant, please let us know that as well.

If you have any general questions or want to discuss this further, please send a note to our dev mailing list: dev@openoffice.apache.org

Thanks!
