Issue 73351

Summary: Data lost from Table Cell in Edit Mode when Resize Row
Product: Base Reporter: ajstadlin <webmaster>
Component: codeAssignee: AOO issues mailing list <issues>

Severity: Trivial

Description ajstadlin 2007-01-11 02:18:58 UTC
Steps to demonstrate the problem.

1. Open a Database Table for adding or editing data
2. Enter data into a Cell
3. Resize the row by click dragging the mouse over the row boundary.
4.  Any changes to the cell data are undone.  If data was added, it is erased;
if data is changed, it reverts back to previous data.

This is not a problem in the OO Calc application. Calc will not let you resize
a row (or column) if a cell is still in Edit mode. I think that the Table data
cells in the OO Base application should behave consistently with the Calc
application.

This is also not problem in the Writer application when working with tables.
In Writer, the document stays in Edit mode even while resizing Table Rows and
Columns.

I am running OO v2.1 on Windows XP SP2 and can reproduce the problem.

Issue confirmed with OpenOffice.org 2.1.0 [680m6(Build:9095)] Windows XP SP2

Simplified reproduction:
at step 3 it is not required to actually resize the row : it is enough to just
click the border row headers to trigger the reset.
Left, right and middle mouse clicks all demonstrate the same result
The issue occurs when border between any row headers is clicked, not necessarily
involving the row to which the modified cell belongs

observed issue variations:
Reproduction: for each of the following start after performing step 2 of
original reproduction directions:

cell resets when clicking column header while editing.
1. click(left or right) the column header of the cell that is being edited
2. => the cell contents are reset

cell resets when middle-clicking a different cell while editing.
1. middle-click any cell other than the one that has been modified
2. => the cell contents are reset

I was able to reproduce the problem.
The following are my specifications-
OpenOffice.org 2.0
Windows XP 2002-SP2

However, the issue does not occur when border between any row headers is
clicked. The bug occurs only for the row which contains the modified cell.

I can also confirm it under Debian with 2.2 RC2

Hi,

I can confirm this, reassign to the right developer and set target.
