Create a 2D Chart e.g. Area
Select a Dataserie
Object Properties Tabpage Area
Switch The Fill to Hatching
Mark Background Color and choose a Background Color (Hatching Type whatever)
Leave the Dialog by using ok
Switch to a 3D Charttype e.g. Area
The Dataseries with the settings for the Background Color are only grey

the same problem occurs with version OOo 2.0.3
