Reassigned. (Michael Sacco - 6/5/2010) I have reproduced the following enhancement on the following platforms: Windows 7 x64bit - OOo 3.3.0 - DEV300m78 Windows XP Professional - DEV300m78 and was, as you mentioned, able to open and edit the inserted bitmap freely (in Microsoft Paint) using your provided file by simply double-clicking the bitmap on the slide. To confirm your Linux enhancement request, I tried it on the platform: Linux (OpenSuSe) - OOo 3.1.1 and I can confirm the fact that you cannot edit a bitmap. OpenOffice defaults to "Draw" as their editing program on Linux side and doesn't allow for choosing to edit on another editing program, such as GIMP. To do some follow-up testing, I made sure that this was not simply file specific as I created my own file with a bitmap object and could access it just the same on Windows platform and unable to access it, again, on Linux. Steps to create bitmap object (Windows Platform): 1. Create new Presentation 2. Choose any slide layout 3. Insert > Object > OLE Object > Further Objects > Paintbrush Picture 4. This opens a paint window that allows for editing, draw intended picture 5. Close paint editor and return to slide view - this will display the created picture in the slide 6. Double-click bitmap object to re-open in MS Paint for further editing I attempted to do the same on the Linux side, but there existed no option for "Further Objects" so I wasn't able to produce any object using a local editing program.
