Description lars 2002-09-09 10:34:29 UTC
so blocks like xx are selected as II only and not as II
                x I II
                x I II

which might cause problems when copy and pasting this 2x3 "blocks" when one
only wants the 4cell block.

perhaps see issue 6705 (allow copying multiple cells)

If the cursor is in a cell containing data "Block selecting" via
keyboard Ctrl and * (* from Numblock) selects the biggest possible
block of contiguous data which contains this cell. This block is
always rectangular however; I like to have a non-rectangular block
selected then, this means the exact outline of the "contiguous cells"
containing this cell.

My original description might be misleading: it should read :

blocks like xx should be selected as II only
                x I
                x I

currently they are selected as II
                                   II
                                   II

where x marks cells containing data and I marks highlighted
(selected) cells.
