Description andrew 2007-04-02 18:08:45 UTC
Again problems with image export...

This is new to 2.2, it worked fine with 2.0 and 2.1.

Create an image.
drag the margins to include only the area of interest.
Export to PNG or JPG (the two formats that I checked).

I am formatted for a page size of 8.5" x 11", so the exported image is of this
size rather than the size specified by the margins.

It might be argued that this is the same as issue 66044, which is specific to
SVG export. My guess is that the problem IS the same, but this issue was present
in 2.02, and this behavior with PNG and JPG is new to version 2.2 (unless it
happens to be related to the files that I will attach).
http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=66044

Less related to issue 46394, which simply has the wrong size.

The enhancement listed in issue 62446 would likely fix this as well (export and
ignore extra white space).

This works when exporting a selection. Examining...

I just tested, and you are correct, if I do a select all and then export, it
exports only the image without the extra stuff around it. This, at least, is a
quick work around. This is, in general, acceptable.

Until now, an export of the entire document, was based on the size of the
margins. So, I could drag the margins as close to the graphic as I desired, and
that was what was exported. It appears as though it no longer cares about the
margins during the export.

If the change is intentional, then so be it. If the other behavior was desired,
then we have a bug. If neither was intentional, then they can choose to do as
they deisre. If a user wants to set a specific size, they can always generate an
invisible square and then size it as desired, or simply set a "user defined
page" and size that appropriately.

Reproducible. Worked in OOo2.1.
Reassigned.
Comment 7 sven.jacobi 2007-07-20 16:23:20 UTC
I do not have enough time to fix this issue for OOo2.3, so I change the target
to OOo2.4.

I am sorry, I have to retarget this issue again.
