Description bjoern.milcke 2007-04-12 16:34:40 UTC
1. Create a draw shape with some text
2. copy to clipboard
3. paste as GDI meta file
4. Break the meta file
=> the text object shifts roughly 0.7cm to the right and the bottom for an 18pt
Font.

Another way to reproduce this phenomenon:
1. Start Impress or Draw.
2. Put a Text shape on the sheet.
3. Type a word in the Text shape.
4. Select the word.
5. Format > Character, choose the tab Position.
6. Confirm a check box "Pair kerning" is activated.
7. Click on somewhere else to exit from text edit mode.
8. Select the shape.
9. Press a right mouse button, then Convert > To Metafile.
10. Press a right mouse button, then Break.
Letters in the word get unexpectedly distributed.
11. Click on the shape and select the word.
12. Format > Character, Position.
13. Confirm a type of Spacing has been changed from Default to Expanded
and the factor is now set to somewhat a big value.

Workaround to avoid the phenomenon:
1. Start Impress or Draw.
2. Put a Text shape on the sheet.
3. Type a word in the Text shape.
4. Select the word.
5. Format > Character, choose the tab Position.
6. Change the status of check box "Pair kerning" from activated to inactivated.
7. Click on somewhere else to exit from text edit mode.
8. Select the shape.
9. Press a right mouse button, then Convert > To Metafile.
10. Press a right mouse button, then Break.
Letters in the word expectedly stays in the same location.
11. Click on the shape and select the word.
12. Format > Character, Position.
13. Confirm a type of Spacing stays as original, Default, but
the status of "Pair kerning" is now set to activated.

Those phenomena are reported by Adachi in the Japanese OOo Q&A.

If you save the document and reload it, the expanded text will become
a normal text.
