Description pagalmes.lists 2007-05-23 15:53:53 UTC
Often in Calc, you have ta select a data range. Here are some examples (Have a
look at the screenshots):

1 - Data > Sort > options, to select where to paste the result of a sort
2 - Data > Filters > standard filters, to select where to paste the result of a
filter
3 - Data > validity, if you try to select a data range as a validity list
4 - insert > chart, to select the data range used to create the chart
5 - ...

As those widgets have almost the same aim (select a data range), they should
behave the same. Currently, it is not true. Sometimes, you can click directly on
the sheet, sometimes, you have to type by hand the range you want to select.

I think that something should be done to ensure a common behaviour.

This improvement could maybe be done by creating a new "data range selection"
widget.
