Description jayheiman 2007-07-02 18:22:39 UTC
Reference to text file produces error502 in selected cells. It works fine for
all cells/files in first case(sheet) and works for most but not all in second.
Verified file references to be OK by visual inspection of file listing and
referencing in existing quatro pro spreadsheet where all works fine > files
exist.

I see no way to attach the files to demonstrate the issue here.
Suggestions?

Is there any chance of this being at least looked at this month?

Hi,

this is not a bug but an enhnacement request. Calc is limited to 256 Sheets. You
have 3 Sheets in the document leaving 253 for linked sheets. The amount of your
text files is 336 making a difference of 83 Sheets. Currently each external
reference needs a hidden sheet as cache, these sheets are taken from the 256
sheet limit. The enhancement would be to make these sheets independent from the
limit.

I suspected the problem might be something to that effect. However that doesn't
explain why I still get the same problem with the second (3 foot results) sheet
after I save the sheet into 2 seperate files with only one sheet used in each.
The second sheet still exhibits the error and there are not so many links
anymore. Is it still carring the old links and how would I get rid of them?

Hi,

yes, it has all the cached files. You may try to select the relevant data in the
sheet and copy it to a new file or you go to Format-Sheet-Show, select all
sheets to unhide them, select all cache sheets and delete them. Now press
CTRL+SHIFT+F9 for a hard recalc.

The first option works, I've checked it.
