What does "oo.u3p" mean? Which version of OpenOffice.org do you use? Which OS do you use? Do you install a JRE and which version? Give a step-by-step description what you do and what you want to do. cc'ed Sorry for not providing sufficient detail. oo.u3p is OpenOffice.org for U3. The exe file is OpenOfficeForU3Start.exe. It is version 2.0.1.0. I donloaded it from the SanDisk U3 download page. The OS is Windows XP Pro, Version 2002, Service Pack 2. I have not installed a JRE yet because I am working offshore and only have access to my work PC, and do not want to start downloading apps onto it. It has JRE version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_06-b05) specified in the Control Panel -> Java. In the Tools -> Options -> Java in OO there are three listed: 1.5.0_06 1.4.2_03 1.3.1_01 Use a JRE is ticked yes and 1.5.0_06 is selected. step 1 - open a database. I am using the database 'automobile' from the document "0110 GS - Getting Started With Base.pdf" I downloaded from the OO support page. step 2 - follow this tutorial succesfully through page 15 This covers the section "Creating a database" step 3 - Attempt to continue with the next section "Creating a database form". I double-click "Use Wizard to Create Form", but no wizard appears. I see the hourglass for a split second, but then nothing happens. Trying to start the wizards for tables, querries and reports is similarly unsuccessful. I don't know why it doesn't work But: 2.0.1 is a very old version (more than 1 1/2 years). Actually you can download version 2.2.1 from www.openoffice.org. no reaction I will closed it as invalid Feel free to reopenthe issue if you have more information and tested a newer version -> closed |
