When I launch OpenOfficce.org the menu bar does not appear as well as the 
tooltips, but the program seems to function... how can I make the menu bar 
visible?? 
I'm running it on Debian Sid and installed it via apt-get

I doubt this is an API issue.

Please post this question to the users mailing list.  The users
mailing list is where support questions are answered.
