"wreid47362", please what exactly are you doing? Your description is somewhat ... sparse. Can you please describe in more detail what the problem is? Thanks Frank PS: re-assigning this to the QA team lead - this is most probably a Writer issue (if any), because label generation is done in the Writer (if I am correct), it only _uses_ the data access component. s/QA team lead/Writer QA team lead/ I have a database of information about my volunteers that I use. The >database is a MySQL database (although, I tried the same thing with an >Access database with the same results). I need to be able to create a set >of mailing labels for each volunteer in the database. I need 1 label per >volunteer. When I click on the New, Labels feature in Open Office the >following events occur. > >1. It creates a template with the proper fields included. >2. I add the next record command to the list of fields. >3. I go to the database connection for the volunteer database and select >all the items in the appropriate table >4. When I click the Data to Fields button, however, it only creates one >page of labels. > >In order to print all of the volunteers out, though, it should print about >10 pages of labels. > >In addition to this approach, I also tried doing the labels as a form >letter. I tried saving it to file and the computer wanted to print >approximately 2500 pages. I also saved it to file and stopped the process >when there were 1300 new files on my computer! > >Now, I can create a template for mailing labels and make it several pages >long and all of the volunteers will merge properly. But this is sort of a >pain bacause I have to adjust the size of the table each time to print all >the labels without over printing or under printing (our number of active >volunteers changes from month to month). > >I hope this contains enough information for you to help me. If it doesn't, >email me again and I'll try to supply any more details that I can think of. > I can reproduce this. When I have 100 labels or so I cant generate more than one page at a time. *** Issue 11803 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** *** Issue 13326 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** *** Issue 15634 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** *** Issue 15650 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** Back to the Writer team. Hello all. Summary: Use the mail merge feature to create a print job or files that have all the database/data source information populated into the label document. As far as I know, OOo does not support the creation of a single document with all the labels filled in with the data source data, especially when using the "Data to Fields" command. Details: OOo does not work like MS Word where the creation of labels will generate in the original document multiple pages of populated labels. Users must use the mail merge feature to create labels for all the records in the data source. Workaround: You could try printing to a file, or use the save to file feature in the mail merge options. Comments: I'm closing this case, but I would encourage the users to create a new feature request, detailing how label generation is intuitive for them. . Hi all. I reopened this issue with number 15878. Please vote for it!! *** Issue 15565 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** |
