->pagalmes: How do you want to achieve this? When you select the first range, the dialog closes, so how can you select a second range with Ctrl? An idea an how to solve the issue: - select the first range (then the dialog appears back) - click on ctrl - select the second range This may also depend on issue 71812 ta smooth the selection. Er, do I understand that correctly, when "the dialog appears again", that you would have to press on the shrink button or press return for every simple range you choose? I don't know if that is a good idea. Probably, we should wait if we find a solution for Issue 71812, where we can just choose another range with the mouse. Note that you have to enter the ";" manually even in Excel to concatenate ranges. I think that when you press on ctrl, the dialog should shrink automatically. When you release, it pops up again. Shrinking on Ctrl key sounds strange. I'll set target "later" for now until there is a better suggestion for the new behavior. *** Issue 95567 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** I'll throw in my own suggestion, in hopes of resolving this issue sooner. Why not use the same method as various widget libraries use to select non-continuous elements? For instance, in the GTK TreeView, holding down [ctrl] while clicking would start, or add to the started selection. So, to translate this to OOo, by opening the range select dialog, if the user is holding [ctrl] while selecting a data range, the dialog will not close. Instead, a ';' delimeter will get added, and the user gets to append another data range, if [ctrl] is still being held. However, if [ctrl] is no longer being held, instead of appending, the new data range will replace the old one. Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org". |
