Microsoft Windows XP Home SP2, Chinese (Traditional char).
OpenOffice Impress 2.2.1, Chinese (Traditional char).

1. Open attachments "paste.ppt", "from1.ppt" and "from2.ppt".

2. In "paste.ppt", page 1, click into the body of text and select
the whole text.

3. In "from1.ppt", select the whole body of text, and copy-paste it
into the text body of "paste.ppt", page 1. Now the new text inherits
neither the bullet style of "paste.ppt" nor that of "from1.ppt".

4. Do a similar paste from "from2.ppt" to "paste.ppt", page 2.
You also cannot inherit the bullet style.

If you know how to (1) inherit the style of the source file and
(2) the style of the destination file, could you e-mail me?
(Microsoft Word also has this problem of pasting, which messes
up text style, since several versions ago.)

Thanks.

Note that I am pasting text inside the text box, not pasting
the text box itself.

By "bullet style", I mean:

1. bullet symbol (so far I have not noticed any problem yet);

2. Font size;

3. Indent;

4. Line spacing.

Thanks.

For a example of changed bullet symbols, refer to issue 81570.

In version 2.3rc3, the latest Chinese (traditional-character) version,
the situation is much better. It tends to keep the bullet style
of the source file, but not completely.
Microsoft PowerPoint is not even doing this (loses colour sometimes).

I am leaving the bug report here for further discussion.

If anyone knows how to "reapply style from master to slide",
could you also tell me? Right-clicking on the template pane
and do "reapply" does not work.

Thanks.

This is an enhancement.
Copy paste in OOo insert always hard formating. Copy paste in PPT paste always
soft formating. Therefore both looks different but both works like designed.

It should be possible to choose in OOo if you want to insert hard or soft
formating. Maybe with pressing a key while paste, with a setting in tools /
options, ...
