That's not fully true. The revisions are attributed to the author of the document which is opened first. The registered OOo user of the current session is not regarded for this. I think, that this is a suitable solution and much better than turning this into user "Unknown". Closed. Feel free to reopen the issue and mark this as "Enhancement" for the case you could propose a better solution for this. Thanks! @mru: "The revisions are attributed to the author of the document which is opened first" Except every document does not have an author name, metadata can be striped, lost in conversions, or just never filed, in which case OO.o will "helpfully" use the current user as default. A very common case is a document with multiple authors. Attributing revision marks between two versions to the person doing the compare is just plain wrong and confusing. Well, when I try to compare two documents, where revision marks of different persons are already available, these are correctly assigned to the users after compare. could you please attach a test case (two short documents), where this defect is shown? Thanks a lot! You have this problem at least when comparing two versions of the same document with no existing revision marks and no author metadata. For this particular problem I can't provide test documents without disclosing company info which is a no-go MRU->AMA: when two document which do not have an author registered in, are compared, the redlines should not be applied to the user of the current process - better to have "Unknown" in the redlines in this special case. |
