Teh bucket should be greyed out because presentation styles can not be applied to normal objects. Reassigned. Greying out the bucket depending on styles is not the problem, it is working : when I click on presentation styles and nothing is selected (or a graphics style is selected) then the bucket is greyed out, when I select a presentation style (such as a title) then the bucket becomes active. So no problem here, this is working. What is not working is the use of the bucket with a presentation style : when you have selected a presentation object (such as a title), then the styles and formatting window will highlight the style (here "Title") and the bucket becomes active. Theoretically you should now be able to click on the bucket and select a different presentation style, then move the mouse over your selected presentation object (mouse pointer should have changed to the bucket symbol, this is not happening), click on the object and thereby change its presentation style. This is not working. It is working (more or less) with graphics styles, but NOT with presentation styles. There is no way in the moment to change the style of a presentation object from one defined style (such as "Title") to a different one (such as "subtitle" or "Outline 1") etc ... As wolfram already pointed out, the problem is not that the bucket is not working but that the bucket is actually enabled for presentation styles. There is no such feature that you can transform a title object to a subtitle one. Therefore presentation styles are permanently bound to their shapes. Unfortunately the implementation of the stylist does not support the feature to disable the bucket. Since it is to much work compared with the benefit in fixing an issue that exists since StarOffice 3.0 I change the target of this issue. If we rework the stylist dialog in the future we will fix this issue. Text in presentation should work like text in writer. This is a major defect. Hi * To learn how it is possible to add styles to a presentation. See http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/FAQ/Impress/How_can_I_create_new_styles? And in the Help: Index > 'slide designs', follow link to 'Styles and Formatting' There is an issue about more paragraph styles, issue 19340 and one about missing character styles (...) I have the intention to close this issue as Invalid. What do you think? better close it as duplicate *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 19340 *** I think, yes, this issue can be closed as invalid, but there should probably one about being able to change the presentation style for an object or being able to attribute to a newly created object a presentation style (with all the advantages of automatic formats etc) Oliver Hi Olivier, OK, thanks for replying. Pls look at 19340 if that relfects what you think of. If it is close, you might want to add some clarification. duplicate -> closed |
