I think you are looking for the links dialog. - In Impress select 'Edit / Links' - select all links with ctrl+a - click on the button Break Link now all linked objects are embedded. I think you are looking for the links dialog. - In Impress select 'Edit / Links' - select all links with ctrl+a - click on the button Break Link now all linked objects are embedded. Thank you for the trick. I will be useful. But I think the issue should be kept open for two reasons: 1- The fact I didn't find it by myself prove the is room for improvements in the interface. Particularly the fact that 'Break Link' doesn't tell me that the object will still be into the document, but embedded. 2- The second part of my suggestion is still valid (to have the option to automatically reduce images resolution) It's an enhancement Concerning the links: I also think that this needs to be enhanced. The current procedure is too hidden for most users (and also for an extension-developing power-user like me). It would be much more better to have checkbox in the save-as-dialog labeled as "Embed all linked objects" which does the trick if being checked. This really should be a more obvious or default setting. I nearly sent out a presentation with just links!!! It would have been a disaster for my project. I would agree with the previous post to make it an obvious option under the Save As menu even as obvious as a dialog box to warn!!! I experienced this problem too. It was an unpleasant surprise when a presentation at a conference failed because I had assumed the media would be embedded. This issue is like that the 16937 issue: http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=16937 Audio and video files is logical embedded, if its size is short (add option for limit size to embedded), but a audio or video with 20 MB is better a link (I think). *** Issue 81753 has been confirmed by votes. *** |
