A, ods file which shows two example graphs
It always goes 6 too high on the x-axis @bm: I think the way we are use is the better one, but maybe we can discuss it. The best way to settle this is making it a setting in settings/charts, then the user can specify how much extra space he or she wants on the x and other axes. Is what I described just above a good idea to solve this? (for each diagram type independent settings please) (This way each diagram has it's own settings because the different kinds of diagrams are often being used with a certain function and there are differences in if there should be extra space on the axes.) The behavior is the same as in Excel. However, I admit that it is not nice, the extra tick on the right does not make much sense at the x-axis. So, pro: looks better, con: different from Excel. (see bool-flag ScaleAutomatism::m_bExpandIfValuesCloseToBorder which controls this behavior) ... meaning pro and con for changing the behavior. An option would also be possible to think of. Then, we can import Excel files correctly and still use a better default. Would make sense to add this to the axis options dialog. That's a good idea. Together with other chart options in the settings menu. But mayby this issue is than a duplicate of issue 12581: Customizable chart defaults change owner It being able to set the axis ranges in the wizard would be the most practical thing. Being able to set it with typing in numbers or referring to a cell. And have as default the current value. Defaults should be specifiable in options/settings of AOO. |
