When the size odt file is too big (about 700 pages), the converting to docbook 
can't be done. It may be the xslt filter's problem or the odt2docbook xslt 
file's bug.

obviously there's no patch attached so I changed the type to "Defect".
Jogi, can you please confirm this?

without a test document of 700 pages it makes no sense to start debugging
because it depends on machine, OS, .... Java version etc.

This Issue requires more information ('needmoreinfo'), but has not been updated
within the last year. Please provide feedback as requested and re-test with the the latest version of OpenOffice - the problem(s) may already be addressed.
