I have a spreadsheet that has cells that contain formulas that pull numbers from
other cells in the workbook and will then display a value in that cell. When I
try to preform any kind of math function on that value, it doesn't calculate
anything. When I remove the formulas from the cells and type in the numbers
manually the math functions will work. If you want I can email the spreadsheet
to you. Just let me know where to send it to.

You try to calculate with text. That doesn't work. See also issue 5658.
