Description pagalmes.lists 2008-02-22 11:10:11 UTC
I think that this is a regression.

I have a _paragraph style_ to which I specified a _bullet style_.
If I set to some paragraph this style, and then try to go back to a paragraph
style with no bullets, the bullet is not removed.

I wrote a bit quickly the issue...

The real problem is that before applying the list style, I had a bullet on the
paragraph...

I think that in this specific case:

- you have put a bullet previously,
- you changed to a paragraph style with a bullet,
- you now change to a paragraph with no bullet,

the previously added bullet should be removed and you should have no bullet anymore.

Maybe this is now more an enhancement that a defect.

That's not fully true. The previously assigned bullet is a hard paragraph
attribute and won't be overwritten by a style's attribute. It's the same
behavior as in character styles.

I understand the behaviour, and why it works the way it does, but it is not what
I would expect.

When changing to a style with no bullets the user probably forgot that there
were bullets before. He wants to get back to a normal paragraph with no bullets.
Thus, in that specific case, removing the hard paragraph attribute is what I
would expect.
