Description jhrutgers 2008-02-23 23:42:35 UTC
When you have a database in OOo Base with a report, you can open and view the
report and send it as an e-mail (File -> Send -> Document as E-mail...).
However, when another format for the attachment of the e-mail is chosen (File ->
Send -> one of 'E-mail as OpenDocument text', 'E-mail as Microsoft Word' or
'E-mail as PDF'), the following error message is shown:

An error occurred in sending the message. Possible errors could be a missing
user account or a defective setup. Please check the OpenOffice.org settings or
your e-mail program settings.

The report of Base is displayed using Writer. This send-functionality is working
correctly when Writer is started directly (separately from Base) and the
document is sent in the way described above.

Tested using:
OOo 2.3.0 in Windows XP, Mozilla Thunderbird, Java 1.6.0
OOo 2.3.0 in Kubuntu Gutsy (amd64), Thunderbird, Java 1.6.0_03
OOo 2.3.0 in Kubuntu Gutsy (x86), both Thunderbird and Kmail, Java 1.5.0_04
tested several databases with several reports, always the same problem

I can confirm this using BEAOOo3.0 m_1 under XP

This is failure only applies for reports created with the Report Wizard.

For reports created with the Sun Report Builder extension all options execute.

fs->atjensen: Didn't read the details ... if this is a regression, please set
the respective keyword, and feel free to target to 3.0, and assign to oj. Thanks.
Comment 3 drewjensen.inbox 2008-04-28 07:44:28 UTC
This is not a regression.

I don't have a install of 2.3.0 to test on but did so with
2.3.1, 2.4 and BEA300 m_1 it fails with the same error message under all three
versions.

confirmed by oo qa member -> send further to oj

@lla: As you are the new owner of the report wizard, please care for this one.
:-) Thanks.
