The gnome panel items (when vertical) can be read when you tilt your head left,
if it's placed on the left. For OOo's toolbar to read, you tilt your head right.

never saw such effect.

couldn't reproduce it under OOO310_m17 under Gnome.


and missing more reports about this mishaviour

I can still reproduce this issue with official OOo 3.1.0 and dev300m49, yes m49
is an old 3.2 snapshot, I haven't updated my vm that has it installed.

To reproduce this issue easily do the following:

Right click on a toolbar, click on customize, click on the Toolbar button and
select icons & text, then hit Ok. Drag the toolbar to display on the left side
instead of top/bottom. Now notice it does not display in the same direction as
gnome desktop toolbars that are displayed on the side of the screen. OOo
displays them in the opposite direction.
