Just a note on the work directory: Using ~/.staroffice9/user/work is probably not a good idea. As the directory is hidden from the user is extremely unlikely that an extension - which is about to be installed - is ever found there. Usually extensions are downloaded and - at least on Linux - end up either in the users home directory or in a dedicated "Downloads" directory. However, this is more a general problem of our application than of the extension manager. But we should consider using the users home directory directly. It is pretty much guaranteed that it exists (otherwise our installtion most likely fails completely). I'm going to look into this a little more thoroughly, maybe we should consider this for 3.1.
