Brief: Scrollbar does not scroll in real time. Neither horizontal, nor vertical
scrollbar.

Detail: The scrollbar scrolls in real time in OO Writer, but not in Base.

When one tries to scroll horizontally (left to right or right to left) across
the table, the table does not move together with the scroll bar. First you move
the scrollbar, and only when you let go of the scroll bar, does the table move.
And the table scrolls in jerks, redisplaying the screen at least once if not
twice in smaller tables, and redisplaying at every column in larger tables. It
is in larger tables which have 30-40 columns and thousands of rows, that I face
quite serious difficulty with this. Scrolling from the left side to the right
side of the table takes a huge amount of time. It stops at every column to
reshow it, and the column gradually appears getting rolled out from top to
bottom of the screen. For EVERY column. And this happens on each one of my
computers, not just one.

There is also difficulty in scrolling vertically from top to bottom of the
table. As with the horizontal scroll, the table does not move together with the
scroll bar. First you move the scrollbar, and only when you let go of the scroll
bar, does the table move. If you have thousands of rows, this is extremely
inconvenient because you have to guess how far you need to move the scroll bar,
and then when you let go you get some idea as to how far you've come. You may
not have come far enough, or may have overshot the mark and need to go back. So
it becomes an unnecessary guessing game. Plus as you scroll, Base often
introduces irrelevant numbers on the right side of the screen next to the
scrollbar, which remain pasted on the screen obscuring the data one is trying to
view.
