There could also be a choice in the window menu to "detach" current window. This would cause the current document to open in a new window in case the user wants to compare documents side by side. Reassigned to Bettina. Hi, do you wish something like the "tabbed browsing" in MOZILLA and OPERA or more that several Subwindows are opened in the application window as in MS-WORKS 4.5? Rainer I think this will not implemented. because in Q concept no mentioning about tabbed interface. I set wontfix Hi Utomo, I do not think that it is such a good idea that you as a quite new QA member decide the future functionality of OOo - so I reopened this issue. We will discuss handling of feature- and enhancement-issues at qa-dev. Rainer Hi, Rainer. I dont know how long you are in QA, or how much Issue you handle, but it is not having any relation. Please dont use Issuzilla for judging and other things which attacking somebody. Please show me, where I close the Issue. I change to wont fix, as result of discussion in discuss mailing list about tabbed interface. I love tabbed interface, but sun already decided not implement this. because of some reason, if I didnt forget it is because of bad user feedback of SO 5.2 tabbed interface. Sun developer at that time is martin if I am not wrong, please check the discuss mailing list archive. I also waiting for your comment in the QA mailing list. and dont use the issuzilla for debatting. last time you also running without saying anything when I reply your email. It is not good doing this and that The interface would not need to be tabbed. Access to different windows could be simply through the window drop down menu. In the single window mode, all spreadsheets for instance would be the same size and would only have one application showing in the task bar. To switch between 2 open spreadsheets one would just go to window and choose the other spreadsheet. It would be best if there were a preference setting to allow each window to be pulled out of the group if that specific window needs to be resized. If you are familiar with opera, it is the same behavior, but wouldn't need a overall container. And it wouldn't have to have the tabbed part. All it should require is a setting that would force each window of one type to be the same size and location as the other windows, and only show one application on the taskbar, and minimize all when it is minimized, and then allow a setting that would cause one window to be able to be moved and resized separately and have it's own application on the taskbar. I am marking this as new, because it is an issue. I am not sure if it needs to be addressed, but it is real. I think it would be good to have this. it can be done if the taskbar option of "Group similar windows" is enabled and number of windows are open, then we see only one window. Thanks Hemang Jesrani I am new to this arena. I'm also new to using OOo. I generally need to have more than one file open at a time. This could be multiple documents and/or spreadsheets. I like the idea presented here. I don't want to have up to 8 different windows present on the taskbar, when they are similar. I would rather have the option to be able to view them through the Windows menu. I don't believe this is a tabbed issue, but a case where, as someone has previously mentioned, you have multiple writer documents in the same window and multiple calc spreadsheets in one window, but only one mention of writer and calc on the taskbar. To switch between each writer document, you would use the Windows menu on the menu bar, which otherwise seems to serve little purpose. To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements". |
