Description a_cummings 2008-05-30 19:28:25 UTC
In a presentation document, if I switch from editing an embedded spreadsheet to
normal editing mode by clicking outside of the spreadsheet area, the selection
tool is left in selection mode (there is a selection rectangle from the point I
clicked to the current cursor location.) This can end up moving the document
view out of the visible range if I happen to move the cursor to do something else.

To reproduce:
create a new empty presentation
select the "Title, spreadsheet" layout for a slide
double click to edit the spreadsheet
click outside the spreadsheet area, and outside the title area
- you should now see a selection rectangle attached to the cursor

Win XP, 3.0.0 beta

I'd like to add that this is reproducible for me using the steps a_cummings
described above with any of the layouts that contain a spreadsheet OR a chart,
('Title, Text, Chart', 'Title, Chart', etc.).

The key step seems to be editing an embedded chart or spreadsheet, and then
clicking somewhere on the page that's outside of any of the other components on
the page. For example, clicking away to a corner always seems to reproduce this
issue. Clicking from a chart or spreadsheet into another component (e.g. the
title) does not.
