Description joeconner 2008-06-06 02:19:21 UTC
While playing the slide show in impress of the attached powerpoint the slides
freeze as a blue background and do not display even the first slide but the
music continues. Mouse clicks, keyboard clicks fail to advance the slides.
Escape fails to halt the slideshow.

I searched on the keywords impress freeze, lock-up, but no other reported bugs
were found.

Reassigned.

Problem: Impress crashes when viewing slide show when a specific graphic is used.

I replicated this issue on the following system:
WinXP (sp2), OOo 3.0.0 Beta, Dell D620 (2GB)

The presentation ran normally and exited normally on the following system:
WinXP (sp2), OOo 2.4.0, Dell D620 (2GB)

In addition, I did the following follow-up tests on WinXP, OOo 3.0.0 Beta:

Modified the attachment by removing the pirate animation from page 1.
The presentation then runs normally until the last page. Here again is the same
object, the pirate. The presentation hangs on the last page.

I copied the pirate animation to an empty presentation. I saved this
presentation as a normal OOo Impress file. When I view the slide show for this
new file, it shows the slide, but Impress hangs and will not exit.
(file attached: pirate.odt)

I would also argue that this issue be promoted from P4 to P3 as I believe it
meets the stated criteria:
"The application crashes in very special circumstances;
e.g. when you need to customize 129 icons into the same toolbar to make the
application crash"

In summary:
It seems likely the pirate animation is causing the failure.
The problem did not occur with OOo 2.4.0
The problem occurs with Impress files (.odt) as well as .pps files

In my mind the freeze is duplicate to issue 89234.
But there is another additional bug in the document. You need an additional
click to start the animations on a slide.
I take this issue for this bug.
Set to new and change the target. I change the title of the issue.

load the document and delete the animated images (because of issue 89234
start the presentation
you have to start the custom animations on each slide with an click.
According to the start settings of the effects they should start with the
previous effect and not on click.
