I use Open Office 3.0 beta version on an Intel mac book pro with Mac OS 10.5.3
(French).
 I tried to use the bibliography tool. When I use the index creation menu , and
choose the "bibliographic index" it is not possible to customize te reference
output: the defaut outut format contains Sh AUthor TItle Year .  When I try
include any of the desired field such as "Journal", page, volume"..
I select first the field, and then the new field that is included in the output
format is always "Chapter info (CI)" even if I do this several times, with
different other fields.  This did not occur on OO 2.3 for Mac with X11.
