Description helpman 2008-09-04 09:32:12 UTC
The Height of an inserted image (bitmap) always changes when adding a caption.
The height increases, distorting the apsect ratio of the inserted image. This
even happens when the 'Protect Size' option of the image is set (can't resize
the image manually using the handles).
POC:
1. Insert an image
2. Got to the 'Picture' context menu, Tab 'Options'
3. Set 'Protect - Size' to checked
4. Select OK (--> Image is size-protected
5. Go to 'Caption' context menu for this picture
6. Enter a caption and select OK
--> The caption is added below the image and the image height has increased.

I cannot reproduce this my test graphics. Could you please attach a document
containing a graphic which shows the behavior when inserted? Thanks a lot!

I've attached a short demo showing this problem. It does not seem to happen in a
new, blank file however (just tested that)

Do you have a version of the file where the graphic does not already have the
caption? this will be essential for debugging the faulty process.

The table on the bottom of the first page is 'freshly' insertet. This image get
resized in height after adding a caption.
I've also attached a drawing showing the overlay of a 'before' and 'after'
graphic, just for illustrating the resize-effect.

PS - Maybe it is worth mentioning that the original doc was converted from a
Word 2003 doc

MRU->OS: when a graphic's border has a "spacing to content", this should not be
handed over to the caption's frame border. In a graphic this has influence on
the aspect ratio of the graphic's content. It does not have anymore on the
frame's border...
