@ kla: Please have a look @UFI: what do you think about "Adjustable font size for the help text"? The right side help text is displayed using Writer/Web. Change the zoom for an HTML page in Writer/Web, and the help will be the same size. If this doesn't work on the Mac, reopen this issue. closed Workaround 1 (suggested by Gnouchi): - Move the mouse cursor on the text frame of the help window - Ctrl+mousewheel, or Cmd+mousewheel, depending on the OS, zooms the text. Workaround 2 via the properties (suggested by Ufi): - see http://blogs.sun.com/oootnt/entry/zooming_the_help_window Both workarounds change the font size only during an OpenOffice session. The font size is reset after quitting the application. This applies to OOO300m7, too. For a true enhancement, this is Expected: - adjustable default font size for the help text, i.e. persistent through a restart of OpenOffice. The style for the right part of the help window is defined in the .css files in the help folder. If you change the font size there, it is permanent. changed owner (In reply to comment #6) > The style for the right part of the help window is defined in the .css files in > the help folder. If you change the font size there, it is permanent. [Problem exists in windows XP: I have mostly tiny yellow type on a black background in the right hand column.] Just found the ___F:\OOf\OpenOffice.org 3\Basis\help\en\default.css file. The first thing I noticed is the header is OPENOFFICE.ORG 2.0 HELP + + DEFAULT STYLESHEET + + WESTERN LANGUAGES + +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ + LAST CHANGES: 15-NOV-2004 So did my last download and install give me the right file? [also I have mostly tiny yellow type on a black background in the right hand column, in windows XP] Problem is until this is remedied more perminately, we also need 1. an easily found workaround posted on the support site. 2. One that is in plain language for CSS un-savy users. [for example: open default.css in [I'm using notepad], Look for [string], then change to [new-string], close. close OpenOffice.org 3 and reopen. [or is a hardware reboot needed?] Is this what I am looking for as to body font size? p, td { font-size: 10pt; margin-top: 2px; margin-bottom: 2px;} I am assuming p=paragraph but I am sunk on what td=? I can't see anywhere how it gets yellow type on a black background. What I see seems to be black type #FFFFFF on light grey #EEEEEE. I'm including the rest of the file at the end of this comment. I will be happy to write the contents and learn the posting procedure it if someone can fill in and confirm the css parts. I'm a retired soft-, hard- and vapor-ware technical writer who also missed a lot of deadlines because I kept testing what I wrote until I had removed every ones assumptions including my own. I'm afraid to experiment until I know more about the syntax and what takes precidence over what in the file. here is the rest of the file. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ */ body, p, h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, .listitem, .listitemintable, .tablecontent, .tablecontentintable { font-family: "Bitstream Vera Sans",Arial,Helvetica,Lucida,Geneva,Helmet,sans-serif,"Andale Sans UI","Arial Unicode MS","Lucida Sans Unicode",Tahoma; } .code, .codeintable, .example, .exampleintable, .literal, .literalintable, .path, .pathintable { font-family: "Bitstream Vera Sans Mono",Cumberland,"Courier New",Courier,"Lucida Sans Typewriter","Lucida Typewriter",Monaco,Monospaced; margin-top: 1pt; margin-bottom: 1pt;} .acronym { font-weight: bold; } .related { font-weight: bold; margin-top:20pt; border-top: 1px solid black;} .emph, .menuitem, .keycode { font-weight: bold; } .tablehead, .tableheadintable { font-weight: bold; margin-top: 0px;} .howtogetheader { font-weight: bold; border: 1px solid #999999; background: #FFFFFF; padding: 3px;} h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6 { margin-bottom: 5pt; } p, td { font-size: 10pt; margin-top: 2px; margin-bottom: 2px;} h1 { font-size: 18pt; border-bottom: 1px solid black; padding-bottom: 6px; margin-bottom: 6px;} h2 { font-size: 14pt; } h3 { font-size: 12pt; } h4, h5, h6 { font-size: 10pt; } .relatedtopics { font-weight: normal; } .relatedbody { margin-top: 2px; margin-bottom: 2px; margin-left: 5px; } .howtoget { background:#EEEEEE;} .howtogetbody { background:#EEEEEE; margin: 0px;} .wide { width: 100%; } .topalign { vertical-align: top; border: 1px;} .bug { color: red; border: 1px solid red;} .debug { border: 1px solid black; padding: 3px; display: none;} Created attachment 76151 [details]
