Description sveins12 2008-09-22 22:48:04 UTC
I entered data in Sheet1. Afterwards I entered data in Sheet2. Some of the data
unexpectively appeared also in Sheet1 even though it was written in Sheet2. Some
data in Sheet1 was overwritten with data from Sheet2 without viewing Sheet1 or
getting any warning. The result was that I became very scared of using the
application.

It seemed like the problem started when copying and pasting data and formulas
within Sheet2, but I am not sure.

This does normally not happen. But there exist a feature to achieve this
behavior. If you have both sheets selected, then entering something will effect
both sheets. You can select (and unselect) more than one sheet if you
shift-click on the tab. Please make sure, that you have selected only one sheet
when you see the error.

But I think there should be a warning, that cells are not empty, for direct
entering too, as it is when you paste something into the cells. Defect or
enhancement?
