importing a word 2003 xml file with a text box in it causes 3.0.0 to crash and
go into recover-files mode.

both of these files will do it, both contain a text box.  at first I thought it
was the vertical text.

somebody tell me how the foillowing was imported without crashing - it has
vertical text and tables and a different font and a black background area:

I checked with "bug-vertical-text.xml" and "Ooo 3.0.0 RC3 Multilingual version
German UI WIN XP: [OOO300m8 (Build9357)]" and can confirm the reported crash.
Same with 2.4.1.
MS WORD VIEWER opens document without problems.

I created a crash report with 2.4.1, report ID is rp7s23

The text box is inside a drawing canvas. Already tracked as issue 92431.
